For children aged 5 and under:
The program they will go into will depend on their age. They can do the program more than once if they are not old enough to move to the next program.
Parent & Tot -18months-3yrs
This is a parented class where we have fun learning the basics of all the gymnastics apparatus; bars, beam, floor, and rings as well as the various activities done in the Parent and Tot class (experiencing songs and games, swinging, bouncing, rolling, jumping and climbing as well as hand-eye activities).
Tiny Tot - 3 yrs old
This is a transitional program for those who are ready to try a class without their parent to transition into the Tot program. It combines the fun and games of the parented classes but adds more essential skills required for the Tot program. This class participates on the bars, beam, floor, vault and rings.
Tot- 4&5 yrs old
This class will expose the children to the gymnastics environment and teach them the basics on bars, beam, floor, vault and rings. This program is designed to build gross motor development, coordination and social skills. NO previous experience necessary!
Jr Rec - 5 years old
These children will continue to build on skills they began to learn in the tot programs. This class will expose the children to the gymnastics environment and expand on their knowledge of bars, beam, floor, vault and rings. This program is designed to teach them dominant movement patterns - statics, landings, rotations, swing, spring and locomotion. These children will begin to work on the CanGym badge system (level 1-2).
Once you are ages 6+ you will enter the Cangym program. Regardless of the age, they will begin in Rec Level 1 - Burgundy, and work their way through the program. If you feel your child is advanced, you can request an assessment to see if they are eligible to register in a higher level.
Ages 6+: Rec Level 1 and up
Badge levels are used as a tool for coaches to monitor and evaluate progressions; however, our main focus is to provide a program that allows any child to experience and enjoy the sport of gymnastics. This class is co-ed and focuses on all of the gymnastics events - vault, bars, beam, rings and floor. You must complete all 16 skill sets designated to each level before you can move up to the next level.
Boys Rec Ages 6+- We also offer an all Boys Class that teaches level 1 and up concurrently.
