What Do I Register In?

 

For children aged 5 and under:

The program they will go into will depend on their age. They can do the program more than once if they are not old enough to move to the next program. 

 

Caregiver and Little Learner (18mths-3yrs)
Purpose:
To build relationships between caregivers and athletes through fundamental movement patterns. These athletes will have fun learning the basics of gymnastics with their caregivers in a coach led class.
*Younger siblings, as well as car seats, strollers and carriers are NOT permitted in the gym. There are tv screens in the main waiting area to allow others to view the class.


Little Learners 3's (3 yrs old)

Requirement: Caregiver & Little Learner
Purpose: Through fundamental movement patterns, athletes will learn safe and fun gymnastics skills, independent from their caregivers. This class will introduce the athletes to the gymnastics environment and expand on their knowledge of bars, beam, and floor, along with build gross motor development, coordination and social skills.

Little Learners 4/5's (4 yrs old and 5 yrs old)

Purpose: Through fundamental movement patterns, athletes will learn safe and fun gymnastics skills, independent from their caregivers. This class will introduce the athletes to the gymnastics environment and expand on their knowledge of bars, beam, and floor, along with build gross motor development, coordination and social skills.  

Once you are ages 6+ you will enter the Cangym program. Regardless of the age, they will begin in Rec Level 1 - Burgundy, and work their way through the program. If you feel your child is advanced, you can request an assessment to see if they are eligible to register in a higher level.  

Rec 1/2 

Requirement: Must be 6+ Years Old, No Previous Experience Necessary
Burgundy Rec 1 or Red Rec 2 participants register for this class. Please note, the participant will not be completing both levels during this class and will most likely need to register in the Rec 1/2 class multiple times to complete both levels.
Purpose: Badge levels are used as a tool for coaches to monitor and evaluate progressions; however, our main focus is to provide a program that allows any athlete to experience and enjoy the sport of gymnastics. This class is co-ed and focuses on all of the gymnastics events - vault, bars, beam and floor.

Rec 3/4

Requirement: Must be 6+ Years Old, Burgundy Badge Rec 1 AND Red Badge Rec 2 Completed
Tan Rec 3 or Bronze Rec 4 participants register for this class. Please note, the participant will not be completing both levels during this class and will most likely need to register in the Rec 3/4 class multiple times to complete both levels.
Purpose: Badge levels are used as a tool for coaches to monitor and evaluate progressions; however, our main focus is to provide a program that allows any athlete to experience and enjoy the sport of gymnastics. This class is co-ed and focuses on all of the gymnastics events - vault, bars, beam and floor.

Rec 5+

Requirement: Must be 6+ Years Old, Burgundy Badge Rec 1, Red Badge Rec 2, Tan Badge Rec 3, AND Bronze Badge Rec 4 Completed.
Purple Badge Rec 5 and up participants register for this class. Please note, the participant will not be completing more than one level during this class and will need to register in the Rec 5+ class multiple times to complete all remaining levels.
Purpose: Badge levels are used as a tool for coaches to monitor and evaluate progressions; however, our main focus is to provide a program that allows any athlete to experience and enjoy the sport of gymnastics. This class is co-ed and focuses on all of the gymnastics events - vault, bars, beam and floor.

Rec 7+

Requirement: Must be 6+ Years Old, Burgundy Badge Rec 1, Red Badge Rec 2, Tan Badge Rec 3, Bronze Badge Rec 4, Purple Badge Rec 5, AND Blue Badge Rec 6 Completed.
Turquoise Badge Rec 7 and up participants register for this class. Please note, the participant will not be completing more than one level during this class and will need to register in the Rec 7+ class multiple times to complete all remaining levels.
Purpose: Badge levels are used as a tool for coaches to monitor and evaluate progressions; however, our main focus is to provide a program that allows any athlete to experience and enjoy the sport of gymnastics. This class is co-ed and focuses on all of the gymnastics events - vault, bars, beam, rings and floor.

Homeschool Rec

Requirement: Must be 6+ Years Old, No Previous Experience Necessary
Purpose: Badge levels are used as a tool for coaches to monitor and evaluate progressions; however, our main focus is to provide a program that allows any athlete to experience and enjoy the sport of gymnastics. This class is co-ed and focuses on all of the gymnastics events - vault, bars, beam and floor.

Boys Rec

Requirement: Must be 6+ Years Old, No Previous Experience Necessary
Purpose: Badge levels are used as a tool for coaches to monitor and evaluate progressions; however, our main focus is to provide a program that allows any athlete to experience and enjoy the sport of gymnastics. This class is a boys only class and will include some of the men's gymnastics events - vault, bars, rings and floor.  
 
Boys Rec Advanced
 
Requirement: Must be 6+ Years Old, Burgundy Badge Rec 1, Red Badge Rec 2, Tan Badge Rec 3, AND Bronze Badge Rec 4 Completed.
Purpose: Badge levels are used as a tool for coaches to monitor and evaluate progressions; however, our main focus is to provide a program that allows any athlete to experience and enjoy the sport of gymnastics. This class is boys only class and focuses on the men's gymnastics events - vault, bars, rings and floor.
 
Teen Rec
 
Requirements: Ages 12-17, No Previous Experience Necessary
Purpose: Badge levels are used as a tool for coaches to monitor and evaluate progressions; however, our main focus is to provide a program that allows any athlete to experience and enjoy the sport of gymnastics. This class is co-ed and focuses on all of the gymnastics events - vault, bars, beam, rings and floor.

 

When Do I Register?

All registration dates open at 10:00am
Winter Session - December 1 at 10:00am

Spring Session - March 1 at 10:00am

Summer Camps - May 1 at 10:00am

Summer Session - June 1 at 10:00am

Fall Session - August 1 at 10:00am

 

How Do I Register?


1. Before registration opens, create an Uplifter account. You can do so by clicking on the top right corner of this page.

2. Once your account is created, go back into your account and edit your account details to include your address and phone number.

3. Then add your child as a participant under the 'Participants' toggle.

4. After your account is created, you can view available classes by clicking on the Registration tab. If you are not seeing classes, use the navigation bar to ensure you are looking at the current season. If you are still not seeing any classes than that means none are posted, or that our classes and waitlists are full.

     WHAT DO I WEAR?   

*Tied back hair
*Bare feet or gymnastics slippers - warts must be properly covered with medical tape, Band-Aids or gymnastics slippers
*Bodysuit OR shorts/sweatpants and tight fitting t-shirt
*NO socks / buttons / zippers / strings / jewelry
*Plastic Water bottle

Am I required to stay and watch?

For children 6 and under you must remain in the building at all times. 

Am I required to do fundraising? 

As a Not for Profit organization under the Minor Sports Association, we require parent assistance to keep our cost down. Therefore with each session our recreational programs will be provided with fundraising options. Your efforts are appreciated, but not mandatory in our goal of moving towards yet a larger facility as we continue to grow.

Sick Policy

**Our Sick policy applies to everyone who enters the building; Parents, Siblings and Participants.

If your are sick please stay home. 

If your child arrives with any symptoms, coaches will call parents to come pick up their child. If you are in the waiting area, you may be asked to wait outside or come back after your child's program.

What do we consider sick? If you can answer yes to any of these questions, please stay home. 

Have you thrown up or had diarrhea in the last 24 hours? 

Have you had a fever in the last 24hrs?

Do you have a persistent cough, or discolored mucous?

Do you have any undiagnosed rashes?

Did you stay home from school due to an illness? 

What are the rules of the gym?

Disrespect to the coaches and/or class mates will not be tolerated.

If a child or parent uses unacceptable language or actions, the parent will be informed. If this behavior continues, the child may be asked to withdraw, without refund.

 The entrance way must be kept clear. As this is our fire exit, footwear must remain in the shoe rack. We can not block the stairs.

As per our insurance coverage, non-registered parents/sibling are not allowed in the gym area during class time. 

There are no baby carriers, strollers or car seats allowed on the gym floor. (Siblings are not allowed on the gym floor and not to be left unsupervised during parent and tot classes. 

You are required to clean up after yourself or your child. Outside food is allowed in the building. Please be sure to put all garbage where it belongs. If your child(ren) are using the play area, please clean up after them.

If you are a smoker, please stand away from the entrance of the building. Please dispose of all butts properly. 

 

 

     
Policies and Operating Guidelines

Refund:

Cancellation of a registration prior to classes commencing will receive a full refund or a full non-refundable credit can be applied to your account for future use (with no additional administrative fees).
 
Once programming has started:

All AGF Insurance Memberships are non-refundable. These fees are paid from July 1-
June 30 each year are not prorated. 
 
Prior to the third class taking place the registered families are eligible to
withdraw from the program and receive a prorated refund. The request must be made in writing via email to admin@fortsaskgymnastics.ca

Missed Classes
If your child has to miss any class time due to sickness or other obligations, we will not
issue a refund or make up those classes.

*If you are able to provide a doctors note stating you are unable to continue for any of the remaining classes, you will be granted a pro-rated refund. 
 
Bullying & Behavorial Issues:

As a member of the Minor Sports Association, all families agree to the Zero Tolerance Policy upon registration. The policy of FGC is to work with the athletes and their families to ensure that disciplinary issues are handled as deemed necessary by the coaches.
Step 1 is to inform the class as a group that the behavior is unacceptable.
Step 2 is to speak with the individual families.
Step 3 is to remove the child from the class for the rest of the day.
Step 4, if this behavior continues, is expulsion from the session without refund.
 
All Inclusive Programming:

FGC tries to provide  gymnastics to all members of our community. If your child has any special needs or concerns, please contact admin. We will happily work with you to see if we can find a class that will be a good fit for you and your child. When needed a parent (or parent provided aid) can assist during the class. Please note these are considerations that would need to be made at the time of registration. Some classes are busier, some times are louder etc, Our Admin can help find the right class for you. Class Cancellations:
Fort Saskatchewan Gymnastics reserves the right to cancel any programs with insufficient registration. If we cancel your class due to enrolment or scheduling issues, we will transfer you to the next available class of your choice. If we can not find a comparable and convenient alternative option, you will receive a full refund with no additional administrative fees.

Regular Program 10 Week Sessions

  • Caregiver & Little Learners: $142.50(45 mins/week)
  • Little Learners 3's: $190 (60 mins/week)
  • Little Learners 4/5's: $190 (60 mins/week)
  • Rec 1-2: $190 (60 mins/week)
  • Rec 3-4: $285 (90min/week)
  • Rec 5+: $380 (120mins/week)

 

 

Additional Costs:

AGF Insurance: All participants (except drop-in and one-day special events guest) will require AGF insurance. Insurance is $55 per gymnastics Calendar year; Gymnastic calendar year runs from July 1- June 30th. AGF does NOT prorate, you will pay the same price whether you buy it in July 1st or June 1st.
